Dr. Chheda – We don’t talk about contentment much. We’re always trying to chase happiness and joy. Well, there is something to say about happiness. But think about your typical day. 90% of your day is contentment. It’s normal. It’s the getting up, going to school, going to work coming home eating. It’s normal. It’s contentment. 5% of the time. You’re really happy, who I hit every green light on the way to work today. 5% of the time. It’s not so happy. Oh, I got spaghetti sauce on my white blouse. That’s how life should be here. For the most part. It’s normal. It’s content. You’re gonna have some highs. He got married. You’re gonna have some lows. You had to put your favorite pets to sleep. But contentment is normal. Let’s enjoy it. Transcriptions from AI and may not be 100% accurate
Dr. Chheda – Does drinking milk really cause a cold or cough or get a or cause a cold or a cough to get worse? Medically speaking, no, not really. Whole milk just because it’s thick can make you feel like you’ve got a little bit extra mucus inside. Now if you want to stop drinking milk during a colder cough, that’s perfectly fine. But realize for infants and young toddlers milk may be their only source of nutrition and source of hydration. So I really don’t recommend stopping milk during a cold or a cough, because I don’t want them to lose out on any nutrition nor do I want them to get dehydrated. So if your child has a cold or a cough, and their main source of nutrition is milk, continue the milk it’s perfectly fine. Transcriptions from AI and may not be 100% accurate
Checking the mail today and all I have are bills. That’s all we get in the mail. No more personal mail anymore. But my kids used to love checking for mail. Because my cousin whenever he traveled would always send them postcards. So they had something to check in the mail. Just remember, if you’re traveling, just send a postcard either to yourself or to a neighbor, and they will enjoy it. Transcriptions from AI and may not be 100% accurate.

Dr. Chheda -The first three months after birth you can actually consider your fourth trimester there’s a lot of things that are happening in both baby and mom the uterus is contracting there’s a lot of things happening in mom and in baby there’s a lot of things happening there too there’s a lot of growth that happens babies should be able to double their birth weight by the end of their third month which means a lot of eating and a lot of sleeping but it’s not consistent um so the first three months after birth is still tough sleep deprivation causes a number on parents but by the time you get into the fourth month things are getting to be a little bit better it’s a lot more on schedule babies a lot more awake a lot more fun to be around so just wait out that fourth trimester and things will get better Mom’s got a lot of healing that needs to happen her body needs to get back into the shape it was before so they’re doing a lot of growing it’s still hard. Dr. Chheda – Very often we feel overwhelmed. The world around us, people, society, lots of expectations. You can’t change any of that. What you can change is how you control yourself and the things that you can control. And there’s lots of things you can control, lots of things that kids can control. Some examples of what you can control is: How often do I smile What am I focusing on in this very moment What are my interests How organized can I be Can I do my homework, can I do my chores What coping strategies do I use Am I getting enough sleep Am I eating the right kinds of foods All of these things are completely in your control. So control what you can and then you’ll have more resilience for the things that you can’t. Transcriptions from AI and may not be 100% accurate
Dr. Chheda – Some facts about breast milk: In the very beginning, the first few days after delivery, it’s actually called colostrum. It’s a lot thinner than breast milk and it almost has a golden tint to it, so it’s actually called liquid gold. This is great for all babies. We want all babies to try to get some colostrum in the first few days to help with their immune system. After that, breast milk supply actually increases to about the six-week mark, and then it kind of stabilizes at that point. At six months, it drops to about half. This is fine – breast milk supply will increase, babies will get more and more, they will need more and more, and then at 6 months it’ll drop to half. But babies should be eating solid food by that point, and that will help with the rest of the nutrition. We want moms to try to breastfeed for as long as possible – two years, four years. Breast milk is chalk full of antibodies. These are just some basic facts about breast milk. It’s perfectly fine and it kind of plateaus. Transcriptions from AI and may not be 100% accurate
How Do I Know If My Newborn Is Sick? 👶 It might seem like a complicated question, but the answer is simpler than you think! Newborns may not be predictable with routines like sleep schedules, but they ARE predictable in their basic actions. Newborns poop, eat, and cry – it’s what they do! 💩🍼😭 So if at any point your baby stops doing any of these things, it may indicate they are sick and need to be checked out. If they’re not pooping, not eating, and not sleeping – those are red flags. But most importantly, if they’re not crying, that’s a MAJOR sign something could be wrong. Newborns cry a certain amount, so if yours suddenly becomes lethargic and inactive without the typical crying, please have them checked out immediately. Trust your instincts as a parent! Lack of those basic newborn behaviors could mean illness. When in doubt, call the doctor. Transcriptions from AI and may not be 100% accurate
Dr. Chheda – You hear about the terrible twos. Well, twos here, threes here in the depths of hell, and it does not get better until you’re 5. Three is hard, three is a very trying age. My two-year-olds would have temper tantrums, okay. I walked away. At 3, they had temper tantrums, looked me straight in the face and said “I hate you, you’re the worst mom in the whole world.” That is 3. It is completely normal. You may want to put your 3-year-old in a military boot camp, but it is completely normal. You just need to take a step back, deep breath, and know it is not going to last forever. And they will be perfectly fine, well-adjusted adults. Transcriptions from AI and may not be 100% accurate
