How do Immunizations and Vaccinations Work?

Immunizations and vaccinations work because they allow the body to build or create the antibodies they need to fight off certain types of illnesses. A vaccine is created by using a small sample of the disease itself (either living or dead) and creating a serum that can be used to introduce the cells into the body in a controlled manner without causing harm to the body. Once the cells are identified, the immune system is able to build the antibodies needed to prevent the illness from taking hold and causing any damage within the body. This method can be compared to taking homeopathic medicine.

Why Are They Important?

Vaccinations are important because they help prevent many fatal diseases. Before the introduction of vaccines, the majority of children did not reach the age of 35 because they would succumb to these diseases. We do not see these diseases anymore because of how effective vaccines are. Dr. Chheda encourages all her patients to receive all the recommended vaccines.
